Dr. Kalpana Madhavan, an Ivy League educated dentist has received advanced degrees from renowned institutions, has practiced dentistry for the past 14 years and has one of a kind expertise in the field of Implantology and Periodontics.

Dr. Kalpana Madhavan is a naturalist, minimalistic and eco-friendly dentist who strongly believes in saving every element of the tooth structure. She is amongst the few dentists in the entire nation who have gained advanced training in precise implant dentistry. Recently awarded with Consumers choice “America’s Top Dentists 2009” and featured as a Dental Expert for “A New Me” interview for Fox 5 DC and WUSA Channel 9 TV shows, Dr. Madhavan practices advanced dental techniques and believes in educating her patients to help prevent further tooth destruction.

At the age of 21, after grabbing one of the top ranks in the highly competetive Manipal Entrance examination. Dr. Madhavan gained her Masters Degree in PeriodonticsFellowship in Implantology from one of the three best intense Implantology programs in United States. from Manipal Institute, India - a top 2% Indian Dental University in Periodontics. To further build on her experience after treating countless number of dental patients, Dr. Madhavan went on to complete her Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Pennsylvania. Here, she not only graduated with highest honors (3.99 GPA), but also was a recipient of the prestigious Omicron, Kappa, and Upsilon (OKU) award. In addition, she was awarded the Best Achievement Award in Pharmacology and Therapeutics Award, National Board Achievement Award and was the only Recipient of Predoctoral Endodontics Award.

Dr. Kalpana Madhavan is recognized and listed in the prestigious Stratmore's Who's Who listing, an opportunity given only to the highly recognized individual professionals.

Treatment Approach

Dr. Kalpana Madhavan strongly believes in using the latest CAD-CAM computerized technology towards preserving teeth. This is achieved mainly by implementing minimal invasive techniques that treat and prevent further teeth destruction for rest of one's life. She is also a firm believer in educating her patients about their dental needs which will help them understand how to prevent further tooth damage. To that end, Dr. Kalpana implements a co-discovering, co-planning, co-treating and co-maintaining type of treatment approach with all her patients.

Dr. Kalpana Madhavan, a proud mother of two beautiful daughters, is very passionate when it comes to education. She is extremely thankful to her loving parents, who strived hard during rough times in India to educate her and helped her gain recognition across the globe.

Inspired by her parents, Dr. Kalpana Madhavan founded and was an acting President of 'Transition to Practice Club' at the University of Pennsylvania dental school that educates several dental students to learn the Know-How of starting and running a good, ethical dental practice. She is also a supporter for 'Asha for Education' and strongly believes in promoting education, whether it is across the globe or in her own clinic!
